How the two allowances work
Research credits pay for SERP research runs: one credit per research. A finished research can feed as many pieces of content as you like.
The AI usage allowance covers the cost of the AI models that write and edit for you. It is shown in dollars, and it is 20% of your plan price, set aside from what you already pay.
Both reset with your billing cycle. Research credits and AI usage covers them in full, including what never counts.

Monthly only. There is no annual plan.

Which plan?
Pick by how much you research and write. Five research runs a month suits one person publishing a few researched pieces of content. If you publish every week, or research more than a handful of keywords, Startup gives you five times the credits. Business is built for agencies and teams running several websites.
If you run out of AI usage before research credits, you do not always need a bigger plan: your own API keys take AI costs off your allowance entirely.
