WordCrafter treats research and writing as two halves of one job. When you create content from a research, the research stays attached to it, and everything the research found keeps working for you while you write.
How research gets attached
Create content on a finished research attaches it to the new content automatically. See Creating content.
Optimize with SERP research during an import attaches the research to the imported content. See Import and optimize.
More Options → Attached research in the editor attaches a research to content you started from scratch.
Content with research attached shows a From research tag in your content lists, and the research lists it under Content from this research.
What attached research gives you
A better-informed agent
Every time the agent works on a draft with research attached, it reads the research: the target keyword, search intent and content type, the length target, your refined outline or page plan, and related keywords to work in. You do not need to paste any of it into your request. See The AI agent.
SEO checks against real results
The SEO Optimization view takes its keyword from the research, adds the related keywords it found, and sets your word count target from the pages that rank. See SEO optimization.
Your page plan on commercial pages
For product, service and landing pages, the research's page plan becomes the page's sections. Re-import sections in the editor's More Options menu can bring sections from the page plan back onto the page later.
One research, many pieces of content
A finished research is reusable. Create as much content from it as you like, such as a long guide and a shorter news article on the same keyword, without spending another research credit. You can also turn it into a content brief for a writer. See Content briefs.
Each piece of content can have one research attached at a time.
Refreshing a research
Search results change. Refreshing a research reads the results again and spends a research credit. Content with that research attached works from the refreshed findings from then on. See Managing your research.
Switch or detach
Open More Options → Attached research in the editor:
View opens the attached research.
Detach takes it off. Your draft keeps everything already written. The agent and the SEO panel stop using the research, and SEO falls back to a keyword you type.
To attach a different research, detach the current one, then pick the new one from the same menu.
Deleting a research works the same way as detaching it from all the content it is attached to: the content stays, only the research goes.
